The Journey Continues

2017 marks a significant milestone in the journey of Insure Group Managers. 25 years of successful business! That's right, back in 1992, in a building in Randburg, the company opened its doors and has been providing financial services to the insurance industry ever since.

While its Services may have evolved over time the Company remains resolute in the values it has nurtured since its inception all those years ago. The desire to provide outstanding client service is a trait you can trace throughout the Company's history, even when they first opened and furniture hadn't been delivered on time, staff knuckled down, found a comfortable spot and started working and serving Clients until it arrived.

Currently Insure Group Managers boasts a significant portfolio, serving over 400 Clients, handling more than R 15 billion in premiums on its state-of-the-art online collections system and a staff of 60. The Company now offers an array of strategic financial solutions including premium handling, annual premium finance, broker acquisition financing and a multitude of supporting services that focus on facilitating wealth creation to its valued Client base, cementing its position as one of the leaders within its industry.

So where did it all begin? Back in 92' with just 10 staff the Company began developing its skills by collecting the instalments for annual paid monthly premiums for an Insurer and select group of clients. As monthly premiums entered the market, industry players quickly learnt of the Company's abilities and the business grew steadily. Acquiring Premium Credit SA in 2003 and Anvil Premium Finance in 2010 they quickly broadened their scope in the financing of annual premiums. Being a solutions driven company Insure Group Managers worked on expanding their range as they recognised gaps and opportunities within the market. Realising the need for a financing option for Brokers looking to expand their portfolios, Acquisition Financing was introduced. Refining their skills and building credible relationships across the industry the Company has stood the test of time growing year on year and maintaining its independence to become a respected and trusted business partner for all.

With a strong focus on innovation Insure Group Managers has ensured that it stays up to date and creative in adapting with the changing needs of the market and while maintaining its flexibility sustained a strict adherence to its regulatory requirements. Rebranding with a fresh new look back in 2012 the Company adopted the tagline - Comfort Convenience Compliance – their assurance to their Clients and the market "being a business of integrity and professionalism, we always believed we could add value" confirmed Diane Burns, Director for Stakeholder Relationships and Compliance.

Burns, who has been with the Company since it started 25 years ago, looks back at her history with Insure Group Managers fondly, working in various roles including Managing Director, Director of Sales and early on as a General Manager. "I've had a stimulating and varied career at Insure Group and watched it grow from strength to strength. We have an exceptionally skilled team working here who strive for excellence and I'm proud of our accomplishments and the fact that I have been a part of a company that makes a difference is very satisfying" she said.

While 25 years at one company is quite an achievement Burns is not the only one. Job Mamabolo has also spent 25 years at IOM House in the position of Handy Man and Maintenance. Mamabolo couldn't be more proud as the Company celebrates its 25 years of business "This place has supported and provided me with so much, giving me the ability to get my children a good education. We support each other and no matter who you are or where you fit in in the Company you're included, staff meetings, parties, I'm there and being kept informed which is important" said Mamabolo.

Looking back Insure Group Managers has travelled an impressive path and while celebrations will certainly be taking place though the year the Company is looking towards its future. "With over 120 collective years' experience in our management team, we are constantly looking at how to develop and expand our service offering. These are exciting times and while we are privileged to be celebrating 25 years of successful business we're looking towards the next 25 years and what we can bring to our clients and the industry" said Charl Cilliers, Managing Director. A sentiment that Burns and Mamabolo share "while economic times may be difficult we're ready to adapt and see what the future holds" said Burns while Mamabolo confirms he's ready for the next 25 "as long as this company is going, I'll be going with it" he said.

So like "The Little Engine that Could" this determined company is ready and dedicated to meeting any challenges the future may hold and continue the journey forward.
